Location data within Google Analytics showing visitor origins
According to a survey by Irish web analytics consultants, Analytics.ie, almost two-thirds of Ireland’s largest companies are using Google Analytics.
Within the past two weeks Analytics.ie surveyed 100 of Ireland’s largest companies with 63% saying that they use the free service from Google to gain analytical insights on their website’s traffic.
According to Paul Grealy of Analytics.ie:
“There has always been a preconception that Google Analytics was only of benefit to small and medium sized businesses.
“This survey shows that companies with billions in revenues are availing of the web intelligence provided by Google Analytics”.
He also added:
“Because Google Analytics is available as a free product, many organisations believe it is somehow less effective than other costly alternatives. This survey discounts that perception. These findings should encourage businesses not currently tracking onsite visitor behaviour to seriously consider Google Analytics”.
